Wilson Worsdell X1 LNER 2-2-4T "Aerolite" in preservation at the Nation Railway Museum in York

Built in 1869 by Wilson Worsdell as a replacement for the original "Aerolite" that was destroyed in a railway accident, this locomotive known as the X1 underwent several rebuilds during its lifetime, its final rebuild in 1902 giving it its current form and 2-2-4T wheel arrangement. The locomotive was withdrawn in 1934 and was put into preservation and display at the National Railway Museum in York, England.
